I bought 2 thinking it was the Noble Man. I guess this one is equally good. I was in the position to buy the previous 2 Mr. K's and I didn't. I think they wore me down.
Wine Library has 2006 Noble Man in their current sale flyer, as of now only 2 bottles left: https://winelibrary.com/wines/58444-06- ... -noble-man

Back on topic, my wife is a huge fan of that JC Late Harvest Viognier that's currently up. I went in for a few bottles.

I think their point is that it is never available at retail so getting any offered at all is a win. ![[new-here.gif] newhere](./images/smilies/new-here.gif)

Despite being tempted a few times, until today I hadn't bought anything from LastBottle (or anyplace else for that matter) for several months. I finally bit today on the Vine Hill Pinot Noir. I've never tried the producer, but I'm a sucker for a $15 SCM Pinot I guess.

That is a tempting offer, but I'm still on a buying break. Stupid responsibility.

I am tempted as well. I find it amusing that they cite a Wine Enthusiast score to help sell the wine and said score tells you to drink the Pinot Noir with a steak. That' may be enough to keep me from buying.

No notes on CT, and not much info on Vine Hills website regarding barrel treatment etc. I've had the Cumbre Chard. they make, not sure about this one..... does seems inexpensive

From CaliforniaWineList.com regarding 2009 Vine Hill Pinot:
Grape(s): Pinot Noir Winery: Vine Hill Region: Santa Cruz Mountains Year: 2009 Special Designation: (none) Price: 30-35 Review: Aromas of bing cherry, plum, white pepper, earth, eucalyptus leaves, and a hint of rubber can be discovered on the nose. Flavors of cherry and plum interact with suggestions of minerals, a bit of white pepper, a hint of truffles, and some woodsy notes. Not as lively as many Pinots from the region, it caters more to fans of softer dark fruit. Rating: 86 Character: red fruit, balanced tannins, supple mouthfeel Farming Certification: CCOF Organic
fwiw I never heard of this website, but another opinion I guess

It's hard to find, but there is some technical data about the wines on their website: http://www.vinehillwinery.com/trademedia.phpFollow the above link, then click on the "Vine Hill" box. There are links under the "Tech Sheets" column that will bring up a PDF with the technical data for each wine. Here's a copy-paste of the data for the 2009 SCM Pinot: • Bottling date: January 13, 2011 • release date: June 1, 2011 • alcohol: 13.9% • Cases Produced: 1,220 • selected vineyards: • Lester Family, Saveria, Raffaelli and Nelson & Manildi Vineyards ~ Santa Cruz Mountains AVA • tons /acre harvested: 3 • Oak Profile: 100% french Oak, 30% New Oak • ta: 0.50mg/l • ph: 3.64 • residual sugar: 0.0 • average sugar: 25° Brix

The notes I did find on CT kept me fom biting. So many bargains out there I seem to hit road locks on some of these LB wines that have a "50% off best web" price that is the same as avg CT price. " Tasted by costacasa on 6/7/2012 & rated 87 points: Pretty good find---got this on clearance at Safeway. Impressive fruit, cherry and black currant. Balanced, medium body. Seemed to fall short at the finish and had a little heat. Best under $20 pinot I have tasted this year. (239 views)"

I went in for three. Also have three of the Vellum Cabs on order from a few weeks ago (same price I think). Never heard of either one before purchasing them I'm thinking of these as commodity wines - Calif. Cabs that are hopefully pretty good and possibly a bit of a deal at the price. Something to drink without too much fuss surrounding it

A little plug for LBW: I've purchased a fair number of splits at excellent prices. I'm sure the reason they had them is that they were getting on in years. The few that turned out to be over the hill were refunded without issue. As a result, I buy with confidence, knowing they'll make it right if they turn out to be too old. The refunds come in the form of credits to the account, which is fine with me as I buy from them regularly. If you're in for a 1 time deal, that could be an issue.

They're having another marathon sale tomorrow. Looks like I'm in for a rather unproductive day. Can already see a Next of Kyn bottle in the lower right of their picture...

There is also a 5 liter of Mayacamas there, I saw some Chappellet, mag of duckhorn. BP wines had there moving sale last week, I think the two companies are connected, even though it was a moving sale they still had "summer hold" so I assume last bottle will also.

According to the text underneath they are moving in October, so I don't think the move would affect heat holds. M @ r k

I am hoping Cory and gang got their inventory/ordering system kinks worked out. IIRC. I only got a half a dozen of the 30+ bottles I ordered in the last marathon. At the time I was crushed because I sat there like a fool hitting refresh all day. Cory was cool about it and gave me some credits.

Apparently all the glitches are fixed (fingers crossed). We will hold all orders until the weather is cool around the country (Oct/Nov typically). The only thing we will ship out immediately is the MIckey's and OldE. I have taken 140 different pictures so far and only around half way done! It's gonna be a long night. Cheers, Cory
