Great. These things tend to be less formal than the thematic ones we do with Leo. Anything good, whether it's something old, something new, something borrowed, . . . well nothing blue.

Are you only looking for antiques? This seems like the food-appropriate table. We could provide either a 2000 or a 2001 horizontal flight to check out how they were doing. Although my CT data is not always accurate due to failres to delete wines already consumed, we could offer a 2000 flight of Fontanafredda Lazzarito Vigna la Delizia; Vietti Brunate and Giacosa Falletto di Serralunga (white label) or a 2001 flight of Aldo Conterno Ciccala; Sandrone le Vigne and Bartolo Mascarello. We have, by the way, one bottle of 1970 Monfortino and if anyone wants to help create a flight around that, it might be possible to pry it from my my cold, not quite dead, fingers.

Actually Ken maybe you would like to reconsider and wear pants instead of shirt, there's more to show for.

OK, so my previous newbie attempt to start an Italian table failed miserably as no one signed up. Honestly, I do shower and have good table manners!

Would it be permissible for me to jump ship, scratch the Italian#1 table, and join the Nebbiolo table? I promise to: 1. bring something good; 2. use the correct fork; and 3. not spit.

Carrie,

Obviously you are a noob. At BerserkerFest we don't use forks, we eat with our long knives or our hands. And spitting and farting are encouraged! As you can see from above, not even clothing is required.

The only requirement is good wine!

Welcome aboard!

2000 Barolo might be a better theme than 2001 since they will probably show better at this point.

Leo said we can have a 12-top. If so, you would make it 11.

I'm assuming Marisa just wanted into the Fest and not necessarily our table.

That seems a bit narrow. Of course if enough people have Monprivato, we could certainly have a Monprivato flight (or two).

Let's make it the Mons table.

Monprivato
Monfortino
Monvigliero
Monfalletto
Mondoca

I see that Jay might bring a bottle of the 70 Monfortino. If that doesn't happen I might bring a mag.

That 1970 Monfortino is either going to be DOA or a religious experience. I will check the fill tonight. I have not looked at the bottle for a few years. I got it as a gift about 5 years ago from a client who bought it on release. If other people could be convinced to bring some potentially well-aged Monfortino, I would have no problem bringing my bottle of 1970.

I think I have 2 vintages of Monprivato but they seem not to have been entered into cellartracker. I will look tonight.

I have some 2004 La Tour de Mons if that fits the theme.

We really like Arneis, a variety we discovered in California about 14 years ago. If people want Italian whites to start, I will get a bottle of the Vietti Arneis.

I always wondered if you had pants on under the table.

God that sounds wrong.

I can't wait, I'll certainly be bringing a Barolo that doesn't suck. If we go for a theme, you know I'm good for sourcing if i don't already have.
