The times are a changing. When was the last time you saw Cristal under 2 Bills? And from a good vintage.

Wing Hop Fong had it for 189 from Jan to Feb!

Haven't tried it yet but when I can get what I'm sure is an equal or better bottle from the same vintage for a third of even THIS price that makes it a PASS! High rolla's like Robo on the other hand......

Not a very good Champagne in my opinion.

While Cristal can be overpriced in some/many vintages, I think some generalize negatively too much. For instance, '89 and '90 Cristal are excellent and I'm not generally a fan of Cristal at almost any price.
