1982 Bordeaux Retrospective NYC Wed Aug 1st
1982 Bordeaux Retrospective NYC Wed Aug 1stFigured I would throw out an event to celebrate the 30 years of the infamous 1982 vintage from Bordeaux. Any interest for an offline sometime in 2012 in either Westchester or NYC??

Re: 1982 Bordeaux Retrospective NYC
Thanks for the idea Mike, I just sent out an email to my tasting group that when it's my turn in 2012 we're doing 82 bdx's. BTW, if you do this in June count me in. Saxon and others have willfully trashed this thread and turned it into nonsense without substance.....Mark Squires
Re: 1982 Bordeaux Retrospective NYCYes, I would be interested, and have some Leoville Poyferre.

Re: 1982 Bordeaux Retrospective NYCI'd be interested. Prefer NYC to Westchester.

Re: 1982 Bordeaux Retrospective NYCcool glad there is some interest... NYC can be accomodated. And Saxon we can hope to accomodate, but NYC in June...that might work,
Re: 1982 Bordeaux Retrospective NYCcount me in!
Re: 1982 Bordeaux Retrospective NYCAm interested depending on date. May be a good time for a return to NY.
Re: 1982 Bordeaux Retrospective NYCHow do people think about various flights based on region??? I figure we also cap it off at a certain number as well. We have done dinners similar to these and the cap has been around 11 or 12 people. There is plenty of wine to go around. I just do not want to turn this into a complete beserkerfest, unless of course, the masses want it to be...
Re: 1982 Bordeaux Retrospective NYCI'm interested if my uncle can supply the bottles!

Re: 1982 Bordeaux Retrospective NYC
Lots of people interested, you can probably do multiple events. Saxon and others have willfully trashed this thread and turned it into nonsense without substance.....Mark Squires
Re: 1982 Bordeaux Retrospective NYCwe might be able to do more than one table, it all depends on the venue as well. I can organize, and we can keep it like a berzerkerfest, but not that large with people.
Re: 1982 Bordeaux Retrospective NYCI would be interested as well... I'd have to buy something too, as I have no access to my main cellar....

Re: 1982 Bordeaux Retrospective NYCAs submitted on other sites, I'm in for a NYC meeting. I'd vote for PDH to keep the price down for those who have to source a bottle. Also I'd prefer capping it at twelve. And the sooner the better!
Re: 1982 Bordeaux Retrospective NYCLet's do it when Sax is in town.
Keep me in the loop. I am in. Ste ve C o yl e

Re: 1982 Bordeaux Retrospective NYCMike, if you're keeping a list I would like to participate. After your Bordeaux group cleaned out us CLONYC guys, I have steadily shifted my attention across the Atlantic. A night of '82 retrospectives should be fantastic.
Re: 1982 Bordeaux Retrospective NYCGuess I missed this before. Add me to the list, looks like no discussion of dates yet?
Re: 1982 Bordeaux Retrospective NYCfantastic 82 dinner tonight in chicagoland. can't wait to do it again in NY
Re: 1982 Bordeaux Retrospective NYCAfter reading the TNs for the Chicago tasting, I would love to be a part of this NYC dinner if there is still space available. I have a couple of 82s in the cellar as it is my daughter's birth year and could also source some if needed.

Re: 1982 Bordeaux Retrospective NYCIt's going to be hard for a lot of people, as it's the time when the UGC is in town, and there are a lot of wine dinners.

Re: 1982 Bordeaux Retrospective NYC
I had figured that the day might make an interesting pair of bookends: 1982 cougars on one end and 2009 cherubs on the other. ![]() See you at the tasting! WineHunter. "Gratefulness is good."
Re: 1982 Bordeaux Retrospective NYCumm yeah I was figuring that the dinner would be sometime later this year, right around late Spring or early summer.
