CT notes on the 01 Mayacamas dont sound too promising. Anybody have a reference point?

I know they are supposed to be cellared for 20+ years before drinking but this wine is either REALLY shut down or maybe an off year for them? Overall I have loved 01 in Napa.

I tried a couple of Mayacamas. CT notes are troubling, but I don't see it often.

As always you pays your money and you takes your chance. However, you're stacking up two track records, Mayacama's and John Gilman's, against a bunch of random comments from people who may not even be aware of what to expect stylistically, and may not know that they are opening the bottle well before it hits its prime drinking window. Those odds were good enough for me last time around, and I'm in again this time. It's worth it just so I have enough bottles to justify opening one early to see what I've got.

Exactly

I've had the 01 before and it's great. I'm not worried about a few naysayers on CT.

Strong BerserkerDay warmup. Analyze the flaws in your refresh game (I was F5'ing with my left hand--weak), and get ready for the big one.

I was at my daughter's concert last night, so missed on the Mayacamas. Maybe it will come back up. The 2006 Lafarge Beaune Grèves was up last night and is back up now.

Are those the names of the new Rhys Vineyards? I am definitely going long on the JavaScript Pinot. I hear it is structured with little filler.
