I picked up 3 for the free shipping(sucker). The CT notes are impressive.

Description for the current wine:

"Ah, St. Emilion. Perhaps one of the world's most charming and beautiful burgs anywhere. Our collective jaws dropped when we tasted this killer Bordeaux - a beautiful, elegant, flavorful and perfectly balanced wine that just floats over your tongue. Truly amazing for the ridiculous price of $16. $16!! This is an easy wine to stock up on - drink it now or stash a few deep in the cellar for the next 5 years. What a buy!"

Anybody ever heard of Benessere? Price got me thinking, but I could also just go out and buy Mondavi Napa Cab for the same.

Just saw the Greenock Creek Shiraz that's up right now. Looked at the enlarged photo of the label and noticed that it's 17% abv. Ridiculous!! Is this alcohol level common for Aussie Shiraz??

No, not at all common. That is pretty dang high!

It just seems like during the past few weeks that the offers have been few and not that tempting... I hope they step up their game because I told a few friends that are ready to pull the trigger!

I'm thinking that if something isn't selling he pops up another offer and comes back to the one that was a dud so the site isn't stagnant.

Like now there is cava up that was up just a few days ago.

2007 Keller Pinot Noir El Coro is up now. I noticed in CT that Richard Jennings gave it a positive TN. I've not tried this producer, but IMO Richard's note suggests a middle of the road style ("berry syrup nose", but also described as delicate and floral). Anyone tried them?

I was slightly impressed with the 2006 Keller La Cruz vineyard. I know, different wine. For $29 I would give it a shot if I wasn't already drowning in pinot noir.

Bump in honor of the "marathon madness" sale tomorrow. They had some good (but very brief) deals the last time they did that.

I was excited when this site first started. Am I getting jaded or are the offers just not very compelling anymore?

I'm not seeing what wines are being offered, only the price tag of $500 for the shipment.

I don't think so, they are charging shipping on that one unless you buy 3.

"Madness" in that it is getting off to such a rocky start? I may be missing out on a deal of a lifetime, but I absolutely will not plunk down 500 clams for that damn black box! C'mon LB, shake off the cobwebs!

Yeh, I am confused. Mine just shows the $500 black box. I even hit "purchase" in order to see if there was something on the next screen - now i have $500 of nothing in my cart that I cannot remove.
