Rao's Tomato-Basil Sauce and Italian-Seasoned Lamb Sausage on Penne Rigate with Karly Zinfandel

Post #1  Postby Dick Krueger » April 26th 2012, 7:39pm

Tonight with an Italian-seasoned lamb sausage in Basil-Tomato pasta sauce, with added basil, oregano, and granulated garlic on penne rigate, we had an very enjoyable 1997 Karly Amador Couhty Zinfandel 'Sadie Upton' - fill an 1/4 inch below the capsule; cork colored a rough edge between 1/8 and 1/4 inch; good, rich, ripe fruit - red and dark berry and cassis, good acidity; and a medium long berry fruit finish.

Then for dessert we shared a Pink Lady apple with a nice, but slightly hot Banfi Grappa di Montalcino.
cheers,
dick
