2007 Quercus Pinot Noir Harmonia Willamette Valley

Opened and slow ox’d an hour before serving. Gorgeous garnet in the glass. Nose is just amazing. A tightrope between tart and sweet fruit, with some herbs hanging around. Mushroom notes appear after an hour or so in the glass. Expressive rhubarb, bing Cherry and herbs on the mid palate. Nice tannins shore up to dark fruited, medium finish.

Drinking this now (thanks Rick Allen!) and really digging it.
Anthony has pretty much nailed it in his note.
For $20. Wow. Candy from a baby.
I need more.

Michael Beckley, the former cellarmaster at DDO made this. A great guy, but unfortunately, 2007 was the last vintage that he made wine. There’s still some around PDX, but it’s getting difficult to track down.

Nice call Rick. I met Michael during the '07 harvest and shared a cup of coffee with him on the sorting line. Good guy, really good wine maker. Sorry he closed things down after the '07 vintage but his ability shows in the wine. Great to see some play for his work here.
