We need to start thinking about what wines we're bringing and stuff if the pre-festivities are being
talked about. This is the main event.
This will be here before we know it, heck Feb. is next week. We only have about 7 1/2 weeks til we see each other !

That's 7 1/2 days in dog years, two days from now for those of us over 60, if we remember.

I still have my room to split if anyone wants to share one... SInce my wife won't be coming, I can turn it into two beds instead of one and we can split the cost of the room...

Oh my, looks like I might be in Santa Maria/Nipomo March 8-12.....so it really sucks that I have to go to Phoenix on the 12th in the evening. Now I'll hate AZ more than I already did...which wasn't much..LOL.

OK...I know this thread had all kinds of discussions of which weekend was right and such. What was the problem with the 6-7th weekend...in case I decide to come in early to visit some Central coast wineries!

World of Pinot Noir March 5-7th in Shell Beach. Most winemakers will be attending seminars / tastings, etc. Very busy weekend for all Pinot producers.

Alas, I'll be on the wagon in March. I'll have to pass.

I'll be interested for sat night and maybe for friday if you have good plan on how to get back from the friday event as i don't want to drive that night.

I also might have to split a room - Heidi might not be able to go now...which is safe for her since Leo is there, however, she IS going to NYC, and I'm not sure I can protect her from him while in his own 'hood!

If anyone wants to split rooms on the Friday night room (@ Skyview in Little LA) let me know and I'll have them reserve rooms w/ 2 beds. Unless you guys want to snuggle, then we can leave it.

depends on how many arguments she tries to bait me into ... there is usually a direct positive relationship between her level of drunkenness and level of belligerence (not to mention a direct negative relationship between my level of drunkenness and volume of patience), so I’d say the odds of your wish coming true will increase exponentially as the event wears on ... check back later.

I was talking about my previous post where I accused Brian of helping ERP with the release of My Wines. Brian said something about having a cost for Berserkerfest by December 30th or something along those lines ;)

And my follow up question was about what are we doing as far as wine themes for Berserkerfest...free for all? 1 bottle? 2 bottles? more?

I think free for all is the only feasable method. INHO, Groups/themes/flights will naturally develope at the event. Coordinating 100+ wines seems pretty daunting. I'm easy though if someone wants to set up categories or organize something more ambitious.

Let's see, what time does it start? 5 or 6, we'll be there forever.

I don't think there has been anything decided about the wine or cost but you can check pg 1 for the updates from Brian. Look forward to seeing you there.

I'm sorry folks... it's taken a while to get quotes from everyone. I PROMISE to have something in a few days.

As far as wine theme goes... with so many people and diverse tastes, I think any theme would likely leave someone out. If it were up to me, I'd go with slutty reds But then probably only Humberto and I would be completely happy

We have LOTS of space - and can set up lots of tables and empty barrels to set wines on. We could create spots for categories - maybe based on region and/or variety? That way you can bring whatever you'd like to share.

I'll get a spreadsheet going on our website to track everything - like Frank Murray did for FallTacular. That seemed to work great. I'll put a link in the first post of the thread when it's up.

I was thinking that it might make sense to start the event around 3PM. Maybe go 3-9PM, and then anyone who's stiull interested in partying can host their own after-party... like at their hotel

I'm also talking with other wineries/vineyards to set up some tours/tastings earlier on Saturday and then on Sunday.

Don't worry, we're on track and we'll have a KILLER event!

My World. I told my son's Mom that I needed to go to Santa Barbara March 13th in November and she just advised me that it is a no go. I am looking for an all day sitter but I am not optomistic.
I will check if my room is assignable in case anyone wants it.
