Re: OFFER EXTENDED: Berserker Edition Wine Check and the 'Berserker Barfer' special, and Wine Flies Free!

My wine check and barfer arrived yesterday. Funny thing my vikings crazy friend already had a wine barfer out at the Oscars party on Sunday. So I'm not the first person on my block with a barfer.

Re: TN: 2018 Harrington Cabernet Sauvignon Wheeler Vineyard

Doing this wine was inspired by a sort of experiment. With zero interest in doing a Cab, we got a half ton each of CS, Merlot and Sangiovese from what looked like the best section of a Santa Clara Valley vineyard in order to get a sense of it, with the idea of grafting in some uncommon Italian grap...

Dan, Just FYI. Your post had me thinking you had the common varietals backward so I did a quick check. Virtually everybody in the SCM makes a pinot. IMO it had to be the most widely planted. It is but not by that much, Planted Varietals of Santa Cruz Mountains Varietal Percent Acres Pinot Noir 22.42...

I have tons of German Riesling. Wife said liked sweeter wines when I started collecting, so I took a look into it. Never turned back. Didn't help my first bottle I bought was a Dönnhoff... After several WB tasters panned the wine I had to try for myself. PnP Pale yellow; hint of smoke, reminds me of a single malt, also whiffs of Riesling like fusel oil; super dry tropical fruit flavors, the driest Gerwurztraminer imaginable; tart apple acidity, but also a little waxy sensation. Two h...

Interesting. @George Chadwick hosted an offline last year where we tasted through a bunch of Ciracantes. The Cab Francs and Montebello Rd cabernets are excellent. The latest Montebello Rd release from Felom ranch vineyard eclipses the previous Vitovotch vineyard variation.
