Re: Scarecrow allocation

Have any previous buyers of SC had experience with missing an allocation (maybe 2011) and still received SC offer the next vintage? I've heard that if you miss a single offering, you're off the list the following year, even if you've been a longtime buyer. You are moved to the bottom of the mailing...

If the prices keep escalating then I see this as a wine that will lose its luster. Though a very well made wine like Harlan, once it cannot be afforded by most or most will not want to pay the tariff, then I think the trend will be over. Forget the label and the vintage, but we had a great older bottle of vintage port out for Thanksgiving with 20+ people in the house and someone poured a full glass of port, took a sip and dumped the whole damn glass down the sink. Now we hide the good stuff from any guests during holidays or drink i...

I am told in Q4 AMEX had a $100 off a $250 order from Wine Access offer. If they do this again soon with the $50 referral code you could stack that for $150 off.

We shall see if AMEX has a new offer for them soon: http://share.wineaccess.com/v/jeff_20

I like to age wine that I know will develop additional characteristics with time as opposed to being young, fresh and tight. Some wines are meant to drink young. Some wines you buy multiples so you can taste that evolution over time. I prefer wines with some age on them v drinking them young.
