The 2013 was dumped on the market here in DFW about a year ago. I got a case of mags for $13 a bottle, yes that is right. I told the vendor what they should cost, but they insisted that was the price. Wine from each bottle opened hss been nothing less than stellar. That lot would be something to have.

Opened #69 Merlot last night. Lame. Thin and tannic. Not much body. Day 2 not much better. Even at 20 bucks a bottle who cares. Maybe down the road it will get better but not now. Love me some good merlot like Helen Turley’s classic Pahlmeyers, Robert Foley Merlot or Pride but this doesn’t compare....

Crushed an OG No20 FOB last night. Decanted for an hour. No formal note, but the wine is legit. Can't remember what Cam said about winery pricing, but it certainly is worth the freight from de Nogoce. If the synthetic corks hold, I imagine this will be stellar in 10 years.

Whether eaten or not, octopi have it pretty lousy. Most octopus species lose the ability to digest food once they become fertile, and then die of starvation. Love skirt steak . Local butcher shop is expensive ($29.95 a pound) but it's always a hit with family and guests. And I hate ribeye. That fat is so gross. I enjoy a good skirt steak too.
