These actually came fat cap trimmed off, and that is how I prefer them. I really don’t like to sear the fat over an open flame.

The 2013 was dumped on the market here in DFW about a year ago. I got a case of mags for $13 a bottle, yes that is right. I told the vendor what they should cost, but they insisted that was the price. Wine from each bottle opened hss been nothing less than stellar. That lot would be something to have.

Opened #69 Merlot last night. Lame. Thin and tannic. Not much body. Day 2 not much better. Even at 20 bucks a bottle who cares. Maybe down the road it will get better but not now. Love me some good merlot like Helen Turley’s classic Pahlmeyers, Robert Foley Merlot or Pride but this doesn’t compare....

Crushed an OG No20 FOB last night. Decanted for an hour. No formal note, but the wine is legit. Can't remember what Cam said about winery pricing, but it certainly is worth the freight from de Nogoce. If the synthetic corks hold, I imagine this will be stellar in 10 years.

Love skirt steak . Local butcher shop is expensive ($29.95 a pound) but it's always a hit with family and guests. And I hate ribeye. That fat is so gross. I enjoy a good skirt steak too. But $30/lb is off the charts. The expensive food store by me has it for $18/lb and Whole Foods has it for $13/lb...

Price increase is most definitely to line the pockets of Bill.

The VA and over the top ETOH and extraction has been the Harlan calling card for over a decade now. The last bottle that I actually enjoyed was a 2004 last year.

Go buy a mixed case of William & Mary.

Word around the campfire is the Napa bottling is sourced from a single vineyard. I don’t know if Will is sworn to secrecy, but I understand it should provide great value.

Big fan of the the first release of the Napa and Regusci bottling and there appears to be a new SVD coming out as well. Anybody visited to try? I'll be a buyer most likely as the price points are right and the vintage is stellar.
