Re: 08 DP hunter

Certainly less hassle but tax is the real killer here. 136+tax = close to 150 all in. Close to $150 all in is still a pretty good price. According to a local merchant, the TX distributor raised its price on the '08 $40 a bottle in the last month or so. I paid just over $140 a bottle, all in, a coup...

Re: $225 Cab discussion

I think a bit of confusion in this thread. Yes, I do not want any wine for investment purposes. That doesn't mean I want to overpay for wine! I agree one person's $225 wine might be *worth* $1000 to someone else based on their tastes and net worth, despite it being readily available for $225. Basic...

Re: Just tried Caymus 40th.....

For a label like Caymus, there’s a significant need for one vintage to taste a lot like the next. From the perspective of the average steakhouse Caymus drinker, when you go out to dinner and order your bottle of Caymus, you want to know what it’s going to taste like and not consider whether it’s a ...

How do we know it is balanced? This is all declassified wine for some reason and balance could certainly be one issue why it wasn’t used.
