TN: Rall White Blend 2019

Rall White Blend 2019, where to start…? Best to start with the obvious things, I feel. Rall White Blend 2019 is clearly bonkers. “Why so?”, you ask. It is a blend of Chenin Blanc, Verdelho and Viognier. These grapes all make good wine on their own, but blending them is a the work of an agonyclite. D...

Afternoon all, I've found the 2017 Baudry's quite accessible - as far as his wines go. When I had this I I found about two hours in a decanter to be adequate protection from turning my gums into leather. This was quite a nice drink after all that time in a decanter. Two bottles of Gratien Cuvée Paradis 2008 - Gratien instantly improved with the new cellar master, Nicolas Jaeger (the fourth generation of his family to have that role), in 2007. I see that you're focusing on the exact number of seconds instead of focusing of the meaning of it, i.e. very, very, very long finish, much longer than the other wines tasted under the same conditions. Critizing it for the measurement in seconds (when this tells you just that it was longer than the...

Re: It's critic bingo! ('19 Haut Brion threatens to "go atomic")

And I’m saying that measuring is in seconds is BS because the measured time varies with each individual and the wine and/or food they’ve had before the sip that’s timed. Your still on the wrong track, John. Jeff is measuring his own perception of length of a wine, not some magical absolute number w...
