We did Japan this last July. We lugged around a 14 month old and did just fine.

I wish we would have spent a night or two in Osaka. We did Tokyo-Takayama-Kyoto-Hiroshima-Tokyo. In Hiroshima we did a day trip to Miyajima. All told, we were in country 16 days.

Low Cost Kindle Versions of Cookbooks

I was able to get Aaron Franklins BBQ book for 4.99 on Kindle. It's a good book, but I think you could get it from your library and it would be just as effective. Less of a cookbook and more of a way to think about BBQ.

Never had any problems in Vietnam. I'm sure we paid a foreigners tax for items at the market, but with the dollar as strong as it was, I didn't really find a need to haggle over $.50.

We liked Everyday Noodles quite a lot. We ate Cure, Grit and Grace, and Round Corner Mexican in addition to Everyday Noodles. Had cocktails at a bank themed restaurant and then at the bar in the Omni. Went to the Allegheny Wine Mixer and one other brewery that I don't remember.

Good review. When people ask me what to get, I generally recommend the Joule as it is the smallest option. I have the original Anova, which has the strong heating element. But, it is big.
