Tablas is a great visit and really over-delivers in terms of quality for $$$. Also, a nice change of "taste" from many of the "Big" styled wines you often see in Paso. Also with Covid, tasting is by reservation and more personal.

Based on chateaus holding back lots of stock this release, it seems they're ready to raise prices Combined with the success of this EP campaign, I'm going to say that 2020 will be more expensive all else being equal. With so many "great" vintages, I can say that only price will draw me back in, so ...

For those prices you could/should buy plenty of both. When you can get excellent wines like those for prices in the $30's, why in the world would anyone in their right mind be spending over $200 for things like California Cabs?

Yup, Sean.... they do age incredibly well, both the Rouge and the Blanc. I think it's the balance, rather than the in-your-face intensity & extraction, like Saxum or such, that allows them to go out so well.

Agree on the Bordeaux timing. But with most modern styled “over the top” Napa Cabs, not sure they will last that long or even show that much positive development. On the other hand, producers going with a more restrained style will likely go much longer.
