Where can you get the best tasting turkey.I've recently tried a number of turkeys at thanksgiving and they don't seem to taste as good as I remember when I was young.Perhaps it is palate decay as I age.I've tried Dietsel,a heritage,numerous store young turkeys.I haven't brined one.What do you think?

We always stay at Castelo di Sinio in Piedmont.Centrally located to all the vineyards and about 5 minutes from Alba.It is a beautiful restored Castelo owned and operated by an American,Denise,who is a great chef and extremely knowledgeable about the area.Look at her web site.

I have little experience with aged riesling and yesterday I opened a 2005 spatlese.I was surprised that the color was deep golden like an aged sauternes.Is this normal.It did not taste oxidized.

For a more upscale hotel to stay in it"s parco dei principi.Out of the way on a small street outside the villa borghese in the consulate area.It's about a 30 minute walk through the park to the Spanish steps and 15 minutes to via veneto.Great!

I have to disagree with Doug.We went to Costes in oct. as part of a crystal river cruise.The food was innovative and beautifully plated but it was cold and flavorless.I wouldn't go again.The people who went to the wine kitchen loved it.

We stayed at the Villa Igiea in Palermo and were very impressed.It is a five star hotel that is on the periphery of Palermo so you need a taxi to get into town ( about 10 or15 minutes) but it is beautiful.Palermo was rather crowded and dirty and we didn't like the other hotels.
