I always stay in a condo or my friend's place in the spare bedroom. The spare bedroom won't help you obviously but seriously check into condos. You can save a ton, buy fresh fish from the many fish markets on the island, hit a couple of farmer's markets that rotate geographically around the island a...

Dan, I haven't actually stayed there but I have walked around inside. It's quiet so that might actually work better for you with the twins. No hustle and bustle of the casino, not as many falling down drunks, etc... You can basically think of it as an extension of the Aria. It's part of the same com...

I'd lean towards Uptown instead of Highland Park only because HP is more of an upscale enclave and Uptown is closer to most of the current hit restaurants and such. You said mid-March. If you stay anywhere in Altstadt even remotely close to Marienplatz and the central Bahnhof you can catch an S-Bahn to the airport from there. Roughly 35 minutes transport time. Then you'll have any nice tourist hotel, restaurant and bier hall at your disposal for the day and evening.

Passport is always in the safe. Sidenote: in the U.S. you can get a passport and a passport ID card issued by the State Department. Looks similar to a drivers license in size and shape.
