What am I buying from Benovia, if anything? My credit card is a disaster already, so please let me know…
I twitched, but laid down and the urge to purchase passed. That said, I’ve liked the Benovia wines I’ve tried and had a nice visit at the winery. Mike Sullivan (formerly at Hartford) has a pretty deft touch with chards; the La Pommeraie has been very good in the past, so the 2012 should be excellent. Two of the pinots are new and the cheapest is $56 with the Cohn at $70. I’d like to try the zin, likely very tasty and probably high alcohol. $38 isn’t a bargain but it’s way cheaper than Biale.
The owners have a Scottsdale, Az connection and I used to live there; that’s how I got involved with the wines.
the pommeraie white or red and the savoy red are all good. try them.
