A case of Rhys, a case of Rhys Alesia, and a case of Patricia Green Berserker’s Cuvee.

A bunch of stuff. A lot of Dublere - highlight is 2008 Charmes Chambertin at $60 per bottle. Bit of d’Yquem, some Chandon de Briailles, some Stephane Magnien, and a whole bunch of ones and twos.

Aldenalli just arrived.

I will Pobega one this weekend!

I remember those days before I broke my winebid addiction. All those purchases I’d been making the last 6 months, the false sense of security that I was starting to get my cellar in order, and then WHAM, here come 5 cases of wine.

A combination of horror at the overspending, overflowing storage, logistics of bringing it all home from the office or GSO, and fear of getting caught by the wife; mixed with the Christmas morning feeling of rummaging through all the amazing presents, and getting excited a second time at the amazing wines and crazy bargains you had found.

As for today, I choose to be blissfully ignorant of all the retail, wine club, mailing list and Commerce Corner shipments that await me in the coming month. I will deal with the shame, excitement, secrecy and logistics no sooner than when I am forced to by the UPS man.

Lightest year for me in the last 10. 4 whole bottles from WineBid.
Overall I am waiting on 25 bottles. Credit card has been dealt with in a good way. I plan of cutting much more as the year passes and into 2016. It will free up some money for some of my other loves: eating, vacationing and my beautiful wife, just not necessarily in that order and preferably all-together.

Marcassin, Second Flight, M. Etain, Myriad, HSS, Peter Michael, Favia, Bedrock, Carlisle, Becklyn, D&R, SeaSmoke and some random CC purchases.

According to CT we’ve cut our wine purchases in half this year and consumption is down about 30%.
The biggest reason is we’ve all but eliminated daily drinkers in exchange for less, but better consumption.

I’ve got a few coming in. Need to scale back next year with a more focused approach.

WB Commerce Corner 18.3% Bottles purchased (30)
Bedrock Wine Co 25.6% Bottles purchased (42)
Riverain Vineyards 10.4% Bottles purchased (17)
EMH Vineyards 7.3% Bottles purchased (12)
Myriad Cellars 4.3% Bottles purchased (7)
Cabot Vineyards 9.1% Bottles purchased (15)
Tercero Wines 7.3% Bottles purchased (12)
Wine Bid 3.7% Bottles purchased (6)
Quivet Cellars 2.4% Bottles purchased (4)
Patrica Green Cellars 7.3% Bottles purchased (12)
Under The Wire 2.4% Bottles purchased (4)
Zachys 1.8% Bottles purchased (3)

All this doesn’t include the stuff I’ve already gotten from Harrington, Sandler and K&L…

I’m with you Chris, and I can offer no cure for the shame, excitement, secrecy. As for logistics – I get wine delivered straight to my off-site storage. Zero hassle, and it’s all waiting in my (temperature and humidity controlled) locker for me to unpack whenever I get around to it. For all the labor of unboxing, boxing, sorting, sifting and arranging, it’s a really festive day!
