TN: 2010 Corison Cabernet Sauvignon (USA, California, Napa Valley)

  • 2010 Corison Cabernet Sauvignon - USA, California, Napa Valley (12/3/2016)
The belle of the ball, served with the main course of a filet mignon with bordelaise sauce. Typical of Cathy’s femine cabs, you could smell the perfume all around the glass when poured. Dark blue fruits, with spice, and long finish. This is drinking fantastic now, but should go on for many years. Great cab! (95 pts.)

Thanks for the notes, Scott!

Someone recently wrote on CT for the 2013 “an elegant CabSav but needs more depth for a higher score” Really? I can only imagine the depth this person yearns for which for me likely would indicate a lower score. Corison gets it, the 2010 is indeed a great bottle!

These wines seem to need time. Beautifully put together.

Well, if you only drink and love high octane, over extracted wines, then yes it would seem as though it needed more “depth.” To each his own I guess.

I love Corison and think they make wonderful wines that age very well. I typically buy some every year and always stop in for a visit when in Napa.

Love those wines but don’t currently have any. This note reminds me I need to change that.

Cheers,

Jason
