Burgundy Find/Question

So I was picking up a sandwich at Raley’s and saw a table with some clearance bottles on them. I’m a complete Burgundy newbie, so I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts as to whether these would be considered a good start to a Burgundy introduction…I thought these were really good pricing, which is why I grabbed them, as I usually don’t shop for wine there.

Domaine Faiveley Chambolle-Musigny 2012 and 2014 (25 a bottle w discount)
Bouchard Pere & Fils Puligny-Montrachet 2013 (30 a bottle)

I haven’t had the 2012 or 2014 but the 2010 Faiveley Chambolle was really nice and other recent Faiveley bottles have been as well. $25 is a tremendous price for it - less than half of normal retail.

great prices and don’t be afraid to age them a long time.

pretty good pricing on those Faiveley

When I shopped at Raley’s clearance wine was not eligible for quantity discounts. Are your prices reflecting the 30% discount?

I thought so too, and I initially went up w 3 Faiveley’s, but cashier said if I grabbed 3 more, I’d still get 30% off, so I grabbed 2 more and the Bouchard and got the discount. So yes, those reflect the discount.

Thanks for the input, gents.

Nice.

These prices will make it hurt less if you don’t like the wines and hurt much more if you do.

Cheers,
fred

Haven´t tasted THIS Faiveley but other 2012s … a no-brainer at this price …
Same for 2014 (maybe even in a better stage now)

The Puligny should also be quite nice …
