TN: A lovely 22-year-old

1995 Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru ‘Les Narbantons’, Maurice Ecard

Oh! How I miss this producer.

Sous bois and mushroom aromas mix with still-sweet black raspberry fruit on the palate, with just enough acidity to maintain freshness.
Wonderfully evolved, the wine is silky and lacy despite retaining its essential Savigny rusticity.
A lovely, seamless package of pure enjoyment, and what a treat on a cold night in Atlanta.

Lovely note, Bob! I enjoyed many of those mid-90s Ecards. They were just such good drinks and did what I wanted aged Burgundy to do. Your note captures what I remember of those wines.
Cheers.

Great note Bob. I remember these wines fondly. They are a treat.

Nice to see you guys in GA appreciate older ones than the folks in your neighbor, AL. pileon
