AlderYarrow: Colorado Wines

As linked in WineTerroirist, there’s a nice article on Colorado wines by AlderYarrow:
Two Wines That Prove Colorado Is The Next Wine Region to Watch : Vinography.

Of course, our own KyleSchlacter is one of the big moving forces on popularizing CO wines.
Alder recommends the GuyDrew Syrah…which is mighty fine Syrah.

Beautiful and more moderate climate part of the state. We were just out there last week and stopped at Colterris. They have a new winemaker from Duckhorn. The Cab and Merlot were good. They took over the old Canyon Winds tasting room. Great location looking at the Book Cliffs.

There are a few drinkable wines made in CO.

The new winemaker at Colterris is Bo Felton, former winemaker at Migration (in the Duckhorn family of wineries). Bookcliff Vineyards is also bringing on the assistant winemaker at Faust, so some CA winemakers are starting to make their way to the Rockies…

Oops. Meant Duckhorn, not Duckpond. newhere
