California Wine Banned in Europe (EU Vote) Unconfirmed

Apparently the BBC reported that the EU has voted to ban all US agricultural products from WI, NC, SC, OH, IA, KY, IN, MI and wine from CA.

This is trending on twitter, but I’m so far unable to locate the original source, so call it unconfirmed at this point.

Why would the EU want to hurt California?

Did our wine country vote red?

No they are just jealous of all our flavor.

Well, we are rich in nuttiness!

I can’t find it. I would also think they’d do a tariff rather than a ban.

No problem, we just ban the Euro swill, only thing to worry about is Champagne so i say we have a bubbles exception

OMG, I forget about Champagne… I truly cannot live without Billecart-Salmon…

FIFY!

if we ban Euro wine imports my collection doubles in price overnight, so it’s not all bad…

The EU should focus on Virginia wines.

No infos, but I don´t think the EU would “BAN” US wine completely …
but it´s possible they will increase import taxes, just as Trump did with steel and aluminium …

Silly crazy trade war … US should vote more intelligently next time …

Greater then 50/50 chance this is our new long term trend.

This is fake news. Someone posts something “trending on twitter” without bothering to verify the story. I have searched both Google News and the BBC and there is nothing on either site to substantiate this. The mods should lock/delete this thread.

Suspect this is another internet rumour. Nothing about it over here.

Have to cross the border and get my Euro wine in Canada now… .

Likewise, the “wine does not breathe” stuff that is utterly unsubstantiated! :stuck_out_tongue:

Locked.
