Two Very Good Eccentric Oregon Wines

Drank two unusual, extremely delicious Oregon wines last night.
2016 Minimus Red White Pink- Can’t find much online about this, but the guy at Liner & Elsen described it as a blend of Tempranillo, Chenin Blanc, Pinot Gris, Petite Arvine, Schioppettino, Savagnin Rose, and Abouriou.
Pours a hazy, electric watermelon color. Some weight to this wine, whose closest fruit analogs to me were watermelon and cranberry. Some “natural” vibes, but not at all cider-y. Extremely delicious and a real antidote to insipid roses.
2016 Paetra O Orange Riesling- Paetra rieslings have been one of the great discoveries of berserker day for me, and I was excited to try this. Lived up my expectations. Beautiful gold color, crazy nose of orange candy/marmalade. Tastes exactly like you’d hope a clean and precise skin contact riesling would, with variety typicity not obliterated by the skin contact. Great wine.
Both of these wines retail for around $25 and were a blast to drink.

Love that Paetra orange wine. Good reminder to drink one soon

“anecdote”??

One day I will tell you the anecdote of mis-writing “antidote.”
(Thanks-fixed).
