Domaine de la Vougeraie (Blanc)
2015 Vougeot “Le Clos du Prieuré” Blanc Monopole
Score: 90 | March 20, 2018 | Wine & Spirits
North of Clos de Vougeot, close to the village and the Vouge, the stream that gives the village its name, this two acres of chardonnay on pebbly limestone produced a juicy 2015 with flavors of fresh-cut pear. It expands from lean to opulent, finding a sweet and salty balance. Not as long-lived as Le Clos Blanc, this should be ready to drink after a year or two in the cellar.

Domaine de la Vougeraie
2012 Vougeot “Le Clos du Prieuré” Rouge Monopole
Score: 94 | June 30, 2015 | Wine Spectator
Very aromatic, offering sandalwood, incense, floral and berry notes, backed by sweet, ripe cherry and raspberry flavors and a silky texture. Structured and racy, this builds to a long, complex and expansive finish. –BS

Domaine de la Vougeraie
2012 Pommard “Les Petits Noizons”
Score: 89-91 | December 31, 2013 | Vinous/Antonio Galloni
Sweet red cherries, flowers, spices and hard candy wrap around the palate in the 2012 Pommard Les Petits Noisons. A juicy, immediate wine, the 2012 is likely to offer its finest drinking pretty much upon release. …

Jean-Claude Boisset
Clos de la Roche Grand Cru 2004
Score: 93

Country France Region Burgundy
Tasting Note (2002)
Concentrated flavors of morello cherry, mineral, smoke and spice ride dense tannins and a chewy texture to a long finish. Lean and well-muscled yet balanced and appealing, it needs time to tame the tannins. Best from 2007 through 2014. 60 cases made.

Jean-Claude Boisset
Chambolle-Musigny 2014
Score: 91
Release Price $85
Region Burgundy
Tasting Note
Black currant and violet notes are the hallmarks of this dense red, whose tannins build to a chewy finish. The core of sweet fruit will need time to emerge. Best from 2020 through 2033. 20 cases imported.

Chambolle-Musigny 2004
Score: 90
Release Price $55
Country France
Region Burgundy
Tasting Note (2003)
Seductive raspberry, blackberry and black cherry flavors take on a chocolate accent in this supple, opulent red. It shows excellent balance and firm, ripe tannins, followed by a lingering finish. Drink now through 2015. 125 cases made.

All in all a pleasant evening, in a lovely location, and the addition of a large selection of Burgundy to sample, the only issue is trying not to go crazy $$$ wise…

Wow!

Great reviews and sounds like an awesome event!

I just copied the reviews from the Boisset web site, so people could get a sense of the taste & background of the wines, unfortunately I’m not one of those talented folks who can drink at a dinner and cogently review wines…

The event was a lot of fun tho, and it’s a beautiful place.
