Lamole di Lamole blue label Chianti Classico

This wine has a blend that includes Cabernet and Merlot. If this is Chianti Classico DOCG how can it include these varietals?

Just needs to be 80% Sangiovese. Can have 20% other varietals and I believe Cab and Merlot are allowed as part of that 20%.

75% is the law, max 10% Canaiolo, 20% others including Cab and Merlot.

*corrected due to Mr. York link. Thanks Gary.

Yes, it is very unfortunate and sad but indeed a few French varieties are included in the DOCG. Very often they manage to bring unwelcome ripeness and plushness to what could otherwise be delightfully savory and refreshing wine.
