TN: 2006 Poggio Antico Brunello di Montalcino

    Reticent nose. Showing rather tight upon opening. Really needed some time to unwind. There are hints of red fruit and licorice, some asphalt. To me, this either needs time, or isn’t going to get all the way there. It was good, better with food, and almost special, but not quite. I will hold my bottles, and decant for a bit next time. This was pretty much pop and give it some time.

Thanks for the check in. Though I keep cracking into 06s, I’ve noticed that many are still tight and in need of time. But, at least what’s there is pretty damned good and I’m sure this will be a long lived vintage

Good to know that other '06 are showing this way and you see this a long-lived vintage. Dipping my toes in BdM, so I’m taking in all the info I can. I have a few '06s, so this is helpful. Thanks!
