TN: 1979 Domaine Vocoret et Fils Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons

There’s a wisp of smoke, some white mushroom and a suggestion of tropical fruits on the nose. In the mouth it is full and buttery. There are notes of mango and rockmelon and a sprig of lavender. Acidity has all but folded into the wine yet the finish is fresh with a sprinkling of salt. This was a lovely bottle of wine, in terrific nick.

Thanks for the note. A favorite producer of mine, well under the radar. Never had one at 40 years, pleasantly surprised but not shocked at how good it was.

Nice! Drank a case of the 13…Costco was blowing them out for like $8!

cool. Never had one that old, either.

Agree on the 13. Bought from K and L for 20 bucks.

Wow, and to think what this went for in 1981-ish, $?

Great and very under the radar producer for sure. Johnny Come Lately for this poster, but the 2014 La Foret (reg not VV) is perhaps one of the better $20 whites I have ever had.
