Rhys for days

Given the massive quantities of older and newer vintages of Rhys available at various auction sites right now, I’m wondering which bottles would be worth taking a flyer on. There are 45 bottles available on winebid right now (oldest is ‘07 Alpine and Horseshoe). Always makes me a bit nervous to see that many bottles up for sale at the same time but I’m attributing it to a death and subsequent estate sale. Anyway, recommendations are appreciated.

The ‘07s would be good choices, but they probably need a few more years in the cellar. If you’re looking for some that are more accessible now, I would look for ‘13s or ‘14s.

Probably simply tons of these wines available. The older vintages will be done in a different style than those currently made, so, like Russ says, you might want to try out the later vintages first to see if they fit your style, since they are more in line with what is currently produced there.

If there is any 2013 Horseshoe Pinot Noir I would jump on it.

Appreciate the info.

And 12 Horseshoe is also very good and basically ready for drinking now.
