TN: 1998 Bruno Giacosa Barolo Le Rocche del Falletto di Serralunga d'Alba

  • 1998 Bruno Giacosa Barolo Le Rocche del Falletto di Serralunga d’Alba - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo (4/20/2019)
Rusty translucent pale ruby color. Pungent nose of plum blossom, strawberries, sweet hyacinth, earthy tar, caramel. Kaleidoscope of flavors on the layered palate including balsam, red plum, lots of caramel, tar, leather, and scintillating sweet red cherry at the end. So much intensity with ethereal weight. Ample acidity and moderated tannin leading to a long finish of delicate red fruit girded by tar and grip. Beautiful wine, preserving a sense of place and time. (93 pts.)
