Can’t say if bottle variance is at play, but the last bottle of this about 3 years ago was obliterated by oak. Could’ve been corked as the fruit was just buried in globs of oak. I had a bunch more in the cellar and was hoping for a miracle. Much to my delight, the bottle I opened yesterday was a complete 180. Again, don’t know if this was bottle variance or a drastic oak integration that brought the fruit out, but this definitely lived up to “Volnay elegance.” 90 pts.
