Sabrage on a half bottle?

Just as easy/hard as on a 750?
Feasible, but more difficult?
Never gonna work?

What say ye?

Asking for a friend. champagne.gif

Bump. Anyone? Surely someone has tried this…

Sounds dangerous, given the short distance between the breaking point and your hand.

One guy tried it, but he can’t type a response to you.

I wouldn’t try it…there’s probably different physics for a smaller bottle (not that I really understand physics).

Not sure what you are going for here if it’s the ‘sabre show’, if it’s a formal/informal event, but if it’s just a casual thing with some friends you can use a butter knife - which works quite well on a normal sized bottle as well.

Maybe combine the butter knife with some tongs?

But seriously… I’ve sabred a bunch of 750s. Can see how a butter knife would work.

Can’t imagine sabrage with a halfsy. The image in my head involves hanging fingers and a wall of pink foam.

It can be done.

Oh I don’t doubt it! And probably it’s even safe. I’m just freely admitting I don’t have the stones.

Sorta defeats purpose, no Dave?

Well, these halves aren’t going to open themselves…

Don’t know if this will work but let’s give it a try

Although a ski would be more my speed, that it outstanding! champagne.gif

The answer to the original question is…

Yes!

A half doesn’t deserve it.

Video, please.

Sadly I have no video. I prepped the cage, gave it 10 minutes in the freezer (coming from the fridge), and it was clean and easy at the stroke of midnight EST. First try, no spillage. Good fun.

Happy New Year to all!

You’ve been training for 5 months?

While we’ve been drinking, he’s been learning the blade
