Allemand Chaillot 2004 and 2012 - unfortunately cut off for Instagram photo resizing

Awesome night, thanks for sharing the details and pics. One minor quibble: stop being total dorks and post some pics of the dudes enjoying the evening, too. Hopefully, not close-ups of Fu in his Lulus.

You wouldn't have been disappointed at Charlie's choice of dinner wear. A Disneyland t-shirt and jeans.

It was two years in barrel, two years on lees in bottle, and had 3 years post disgorgement aging before release.

I must admit that I had no knowledge of this bottling from one of my absolute favourite Champagne houses. Stupid me.
Thanks for info
The Rhones... Love them, especially the Allemands

to be clear, it's Koichiro Takagi's take on the Beatles' crossing the street but with the core four Disney characters made for Uniqlo. But I can see how someone living in the deep south of oc would say "that's just a disneyland t shirt" cause it doesn't have rainbow colored inside cuffs [snort.gif]

Fu must have made an impression on my impressionable son, he now wears Lululemon. And who the heck uses the term “joggers”? It’s called running, unless you are fat and slow.

Can we get back to these unicorn wines and how they paired with sexy jeans?

Amazingly I was the only one who brought my own stems. The rest of the crew - the true ballers - used the restaurant Libbeys. No thanks. I'll be the dork who brings his own Gabriel Glas Gold stems in a Wine Check Stemware case, like a BOSS.

The 2010 Jamet was extraordinary among the rest of the wines, each of which was incredible in its own, other than the Sorrell which just came up short in this flight. The Jamet had just a beautiful mouthfeel to it, and the most complex nose of the flight. Both Allemand were great, but the '12 obviously needed more time. I had the remainder of the bottle last night and it was singing. The Rayas was my first, I believe, and I was shocked that it really was more Northern Rhone in character, yet still made of Grenache - really enjoyable, not what I expected, even after being told what to expect :)

As I explained it to your unfashionable self - joggers are a hybrid of regular pants + sweatpants. Basically fitted tapered sweat pants. The male equivalent of female yoga pants.

Please, Alan, you are insulting me. Landed gentry does not shop for basic staples.

I brought my own, just didn't bother taking them out of the bag.
Was it a Disney bag?

I had brought the bag specifically to have you smell how much it smelled like plastic and I forgot.

A Disneyland t-shirt and jeans.
to be clear, it's Koichiro Takagi's take on the Beatles' crossing the street but with the core four Disney characters made for Uniqlo. But I can see how someone living in the deep south of oc would say "that's just a disneyland t shirt" cause it doesn't have rainbow colored inside cuffs [snort.gif]
Wait so you weren't wearing the Gucci Frozen shirt you mentioned that has Elsa and Anna wearing Gucci shades?

p.s. slick burn on the cuffs comment.

Oh come on, I know you've used it. As in "take a jog to the right at aisle 9, the Klondike bars are about half way down"
Please, Alan, you are insulting me. Landed gentry does not shop for basic staples.

Now I need clarification: is a Klondike just a "basic staple", or the "Greatest Treat in the History of All Humankind"? Because it can't be both neener

Fu must have made an impression on my impressionable son, he now wears Lululemon. And who the heck uses the term “joggers”? It’s called running, unless you are fat and slow.
As I explained it to your unfashionable self - joggers are a hybrid of regular pants + sweatpants. Basically fitted tapered sweat pants. The male equivalent of female yoga pants.
Fashionable where?
Iron Heart or PBJ jeans are fashionable.
Many styles of boots and sneakers are fashionable.
"Joggers" are not fashionable imho. I imagine they are very comfortable. So were leisure suits, parachute pants (think Napolean Dynamite), and running suits.

Are they? Sounds like superfuture circa 2007-2008 to me.

Charlie Carnes needs to pop in with his acid washed jeans and Gucci high tops. He makes the ladies swoon.

Wine and Climax. I love Rhône’s but at my age little blue pills still need to be paired in! [wink.gif]

18 oz Iron Heart is au-courant RA. Ask that son of yours (assuming he is not a nerd like me).
They are also the opposite of Fu's lulu's.
They are named "iron" for good reason-they feel like you are wearing medieval armor. They have to be bought so tight you can barely get them on.
They are a total bitch to button and un-button when you put them on, take them off, or have to pee.
You can't wash them. You wear them for five or six years, daily, and let them develop their own eco-system of bacterial break-down of body oil and dirt.
If you have to, you hand wash in warm water with half a cap of woolite and air dry.
Don't ask me how or why I know this shit, except my *sshole son charges his $500 jeans to my account.

Well, I have to disagree with both of my buddies, Mitch and Fu, neither of whom are making a case for high fashion. But I can concur with Todder, Hugo BOSS is the shits, and so is 2010 Jamet. Needs a ton of time, like many other 2010s, but this is a fantastic bottle of Northern Rhone syrah, prolly my favorite since the 98/99 dynamic duo.

Wine list looks phenomenal.

The rest of this discussion is a red herring, arguing about which pants to wear, as if anyone at a sufficient level of enlightenment to drink wines like these wears pants.

Wait. Drink neked?

Brilliant. Unless we are in the wine room, shrinkage and all that. Well, I’d be fine, just worrying about Fu and Todder.
