TN: 2017 Rhys Chardonnay Mt. Pajaro Vineyard

2017 Rhys Chardonnay Mt. Pajaro Vineyard - USA, California, San Francisco Bay, Santa Cruz Mountains (12/6/2019)
First peek at the Mt. Pajaro from the 500 ml sampler pack. It’s somewhat unfocused right now, and showing its elevage. Apple, pear, some orange on the nose, but also the wood is a bit raw right now. I got a distinctive note of freshly sawn plywood, which was somewhat distracting. Going to let my other bottles rest for a while before trying this again.

mmm…saw dust

I actually like the smell of fresh sawdust, just not in my wine.

From 375. Lovely clean nose with white flowers and a hint of honeysuckle. Nice acid filled palate with some finishing white peach fruit. Not sure this is the most complex Rhys Chardonnay, but really lovely to drink - crisp and refreshing.
