TN: 2004 Fratelli Brovia Barolo Ca'mia (Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo)

2004 Fratelli Brovia Barolo Ca’mia - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo (12/25/2019)
It’s getting there. The nose is all roses and sweet cherry fruit, with late tones of fresh leather and tar. The tannins are still firm, though not drying. It has plenty of depth for the tannins to mellow, and even more aromatic complexity to emerge. While enjoyable now, I would prefer to wait another five years or so before trying it again.

That’s about what I’d expect from this '04 right now. '06 Villero was surprisingly open this year, though.

Thanks, David and Doug. Since Ca’ Mia (aka Brea) is in Serralunga, you’d expect it to be a bit backward. But I’ve found a number of '04s that have been coming along nicely.
