‘07 Ferraton Père et Fils Ermitage Les Dionnières

With the main course of pan-seared A5 wagyu steaks at my father’s house tonight, Wednesday the 1st January 2020:

2007 Ferraton Père et Fils Ermitage Les Dionnières - Initially, licorice notes jutted out disturbingly. After some time in glass, the deeply-veined dark fruit opened up, showing a level of overripe-sweetness that is not to my taste in general; much less for an Ermitage. Bit heady, licorice calmed down materially, bit of cocoa surfaced. Heft and length more than decent. It’s really not my style though; and I have only myself to blame as I was the one who pulled it from my father’s cav. My eldest didn’t care much for it either. Oh well…it happens.
