TN: TablasCreek Roussanne '14...(short/boring)

Tried this at dinner at Susan’s Fri night:

  1. TablasCreekVnyds Roussanne Estate/AdelaidaDist/PasoRobles (13.%) 2014: Med.dark gold color; beautiful honeyed/honeycomb/honeysuckle/Rouss bit floral/spicy/nutmeg slight nutty/oxidative slight herbal/hay mow fairly complex lovely nose; lightly tart very rich/lush honeyed/honeycomb/honeysuckle/Rouss/spicy slight nutty/oxidative/toasted hazelnuts slight new mown hay rather complex beautiful flavor; very long/lingering very rich/lush lightly tart balanced strong honeyed/honeysuckle/Rouss some oxidative/nutty complex finish; a beautiful fruit-forward rich/lush Rouss that is starting to show some evolution and should go another 4-8 yrs.

A wee BloodyPulpit:

  1. This Rouss is a great example of a wine that puts on weight with age (don’t we all!!) and has become a really rich/lush/nuanced Rouss. The Esprit Blanc also evolves in much the same fashion, though at a bit slower rate. Another terrific TCV white that was a huge hit at the dinner party.
The TCV Wine Deal of the Month here in Jan is the Roussanne '17. At a case purchase, it is $26/btl + shipping. A crazy/silly price.

I too love their Roussanne - and try to explain to.folks that it does get better with age. Not everyone gets it - but those that do are heavily rewarded.

Cheers.
