Discussion: recent champagne vintages

We all know 08 and 12 were good; what other vintages have been good going forward? I heard 13 and 14 were good and 15 not so much, 16?

2010 is going to be an interesting year but I heard an interview w/ the Ruinart team and they were hyping up their 2010.

(Also, the first time they have aged with cork instead of bottle caps… if i recall correctly.)

2010 is not terribly well regarded, but I like the wines I have tried. Much like 2007, I enjoy the brightness. They won’t be keepers, but you have to drink something now!

The 166 krug (2010 base) have been pretty good lately.

NYE we opened a Vilmart CdC 2008 & 2010…the room unanimously enjoyed the 2010 over the 2008. Not that the 2008 wasn’t great, but there was more tension and it just seemed fresher.
