TN: 2014 Hubert Lamy Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Murgers des Dents de Chien

There’s a hint of matchstick blows off quickly leaving a fresh stony nose with asian pear, lemon curd, chalk, bitter almond, white flowers, and deftly done subtle wood. It’s toothsome and deep, yet crystal clear and fresh on the palate. There is a sense of precision and focus that is impressive. I like Jeremy’s nod to Chevalier in his TN. This wine has great dry extract yet simultaneously has a sense of clarity, freshness, and lift. This has a lot going on, but what impresses most is its sense of cohesion and precision. Nothing sticks out, it just all adds up to something greater than the sum of its parts. Drinks like mineral water: delicious, delicious mineral water. Terrific balance. Harmonious and effortlessly beautiful. Drinking beautifully in a young way with tons of time in hand. (94 pts.)
