TN: 2016 Alain Voge Cornas Les Vieilles Vignes (France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Cornas)

Decanted a full shift aka 8 hrs. I know that Voge is considered firmly in the modern camp for Cornas, and certainly the nose goes that direction; sweet blue fruits surrounded by floral scents and potpourri, a bit of white pepper too. While very primary and undeveloped, this is clearly well framed, showing both power and delicacy on the palate, the fruit veers slight in the dark berry category but not by much, call it blackberry light if you will. Finishes fresh all the way to the respectable finish, which is were you do see some more traditional N. Rhone stuff (pepper olive etc). Certainly a good experience , but as almost all TN’s indicate from various vintages on CT for drinking a Voge VV young, much better days ahead and should coast 20- 25 years with ease (93 pts.)
