Berserkerday Purchase: Lagier Meredith Mondeuse 2017

I tried one one of the Tribidrag bottles a day or two ago, and I thought it was really good. I don’t post many notes these days but probably should have posted on that wine. It was a meaningful part of a great BDay deal.

Tonight, I randomly pulled the 2017 LM Mondeuse. No amount of laziness can prevent me from at least saying something about how awesome this wine is. This is a full-bodied wine, and it is dark, savory and herbal. It is not heavy or cloyingly sweet, just potent and mouth-filling. I wish I had a giant grilled steak to pair with it, but sadly I am not that prepared. The wine has no hard edges now, so having only one other bottle I probably will never know how the wine will age. This wine is drinking really well.

If there is a silver lining to having to stay at home and not see friends right now, it is that I will have to drink the contents of this bottle myself. [cheers.gif]
