TN: 2018 Ceritas Occidental PN: It’s been almost a week since I had it, so notes are not as fresh in my memory as they should be. But almost a hint of effervescense on the nose. Lots of lighter red fruit, great balance, great acidity. It has a lightness to it and no oak was detected. I’d say it’s old world, but the fruit makes it new world as well. Somewhere in-between. Got to say, this is probably my favorite Ceritas I’ve had. I think overall they’re always good, but a tad too pricy. Not sure how much this one is in retail, but it must be edging close a $100. At $50-60 I’d be a buyer of this. At $100 I’ll only dip occasionally or when there’s an offer. 93-94pts.
I really hope this crisis does a little reality-check on prices. Good wine, like this is, shouldn’t have to cost $100/bottle.
