TN: 2002 Etienne Sauzet Bâtard-Montrachet

  • 2002 Etienne Sauzet Bâtard-Montrachet - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (4/13/2020)
A very nice bottle. Properly developed with notes of truffled honey, toast, smoke and candied peach. It is intense and powerful, with loads of minerality just below the surface. There’s some vanilla and nutmeg spice and it is complex and engaging with bitter fruit rind freshness to the long finish.

Thanks for this note Jeremy. I love that wine. Drank recently.

missed this one. Sounds great.

I am amazed that anyone spends money on white burgundy when there’s champagne and Oregon chardonnay available!

Just poking fun - reference to another thread.

I just spent five minutes trying to get the pun in the title, but for the life of me, I can’t get it. I must be losing it.
