TN: Two Inexpensive 2000 Bordeaux Side By Side

2000 Chateau Saint Suplice - Lots of cedar, tobacco and black pepper on the nose. Nice body and texture with very consistent flavors on the palate. I actually think the 20 years in the bottle have done it some good. Not a blockbuster, but a very solid wine. Reminds me a bit of an old school Talbot.

2000 Chateau Saint Yves - Pencil lead and muted black cherry fruit on the nose. Not bad on the palate but a little dilute. Not sure if it is just tired or wasn’t that great to begin with. Drinkable, but not much going on.

One out of two for budget Bordeaux ain’t bad.

Good to see some TNs on a couple of saints from 2000s.

I’ve also committed to, and had pulled/delivered from remote storage a few satellite Bordeaux 2000s for, tasting in the coming days. This stay@home environment is making test-tasting conducive.
