TN: 2016 Littorai Pinot Noir The Pivot Vineyard

__2016 Littorai Pinot Noir The Pivot Vineyard

I have to admit I was a bit skeptical on Day 1 as the wine clearly lacked length&depth and the fruit was too sweet for my palate. BUT on Day 2 everything came together. We have a polished&elegant&charming red fruit and with floral&herbal notes. Good acidity. What a delicate Pinot and I am quite interested to taste an aged version.

93/100

Littorai is one of my favorite California wines. These can age and if you haven’t tried their chards, worth seeking out.

Nice post Martin. I also thoroughly enjoyed this wine. Also agree it is young with lots of potential.

Any Chard in particular?

I like both the Heintz and the Thieriot with maybe a slight edge to the Heintz.

I do like both their pinots and chards…couple mixed cases sitting around the cellar…however like many really good California producers, I’m not liking their price points…especially in relationship to Oregon wines…seriously reining in.
