I ended up using the referral link and Amex offer to get 3 bottles of Teeter Totter Cab for $95. Great price on some Benoit Touquette wines.

Dummy me, I messed it up. Just checked the Amex account. You are right, I would have needed to order 4 bottles to keep the amount above $150 before the Amex $50 hit. Lol. Oh well, instead of getting 4 bottles for $140, I got 3 for $130. Still a good deal, but dang, coulda had 1 more for an additional $10!
Not to be an enabler (but aren’t we all a bit?) I checked wine.com for Frog’s Leap based on all the recommendations. $65.99 for the 2016 or $43.99 with the 100/300 coupon. [cheers.gif]

Lewelling..... both the “regular” and Wight bottling. Usually sold as a two pack for approximately $100 for the pair. Outstanding stuff and wonderful people!

Cheers!

Easy. Frog’s Leap, Rutherford.
If you’re in Northern IL or WI, check your Woodman’s because the one near me has it priced at $36. I’ve found several cabs priced at the merlot price 😀

Bunch of great names already mentioned but will add my 2cents

Long Meadow Ranch Napa- I believe $45 with club membership. One of the few clubs I remain on. Great oppty's to buy older vintages as well. Made in a more classic style
Frogs Leap- worthy of all the praise. Another club we belong to for their special bottles and offers
Freemark Abby- more new world in style but loving the 16 for $40
Clos Du Val- liked it better at prior pricing but adding when I see it on special
DICO- big fan of all the Dicostanzo line up
Seavey Caravina
Calluna - Estate BDX blend and Colonel Vineyard- Alfert, these wines scream your name.
Myriad NPV- new world in style and one of my favorite versions. a wow wine to share with Cab lovers
Chapellet and Ramey would round out my top ones

Loving this thread. Lots of great ideas.

Spring Mountain and Frog's Leap are certainly solid choices. Rare that I see Spring Mountain at/under $60 though unless it's at Costco (DFW area North Texas).

One I've not seen mentioned is Pott's NV Cab. At $60, I can't think of anything that quite scratches the same itch for my palate. Warning though, it's a gateway drug to their other more expensive stuff. That's been my experience anyway.

Thanks everyone for using my referral link champagne.gif

I too grabbed one to see what the fuss is. Great that it's under 14% abv as well. Pushed delivery out to End of September.

For anyone else.

Sign up using Referral link for $50 off $150.

2017 Frog Leap is here before they remove the product

https://www.wineaccess.com/catalog/2017 ... 50c46ceb0/

Amex offer for $50 off $150 after tax. For me, that was $183 pretax = ~$100 total out of pocket. So about 45% off.

Also Rakuten has 1.5% on top of that ...

I just bought 3 2017 Teeter Totter for $156 including shipping and tax using one the referral links, which after the AmEx offer comes out to $106 or ~$35 per bottle!

Now if you gentleman want to keep going, here is my referral link:

I know I already put in Ridge but the most underrated below $75 to me is Ramey. I have had some Ramey Cabs that scratched my itch. I have had some really great cabs. I loved Spottswoode in the past. Ridge Montebello. At $150 or so I thought these were some of the best that didn't cost $500. 94/97 Screaming Eagle. 94/97 Harlan. Those are expensive but excellent cabs! A bottle of Ramey in the past which retailed for $60 or so, just blew me away. When the year is good like 2016, it should be really nice. FWIW.

This is the one. I had this in Florida at Walt Disney. It totally rocked. Added here again to emphasize what a delicious wine this is.

Last night was 2008 Dehlinger Cabernet. Drinking very well, not heavy but with good mouth saturation. A Cab bargain for sure.

I wouldn’t put Bedrock or Rivers Marie in this competition. I love Bedrock for blends, Zins and Syrah, not so much for cab. Rivers Marie just doesn’t fit my interests in cab.
Of the ones I have had lately, easily Liparita, Alexander Valley Vineyards and Congruence. With the exception of Alexander Valley which is easily found, the others were procured on Winebid or blowout pricing under $30. I find no reason to go over $45 in this category any more. There a deals to be had and deals to come in the world of wine.
Hey Michael, just curious what about Rivers Marie doesn’t fit your interest? I see lots of RM fans, and considering an initial order, love to hear other perspectives.

Had a wine shop employee I trust recently recommend Darm’s Lane. Have tried 3 bottles now, for $65/per, and it’s very good. Oak Knoll AVA, family-owned, fairly small production.

Long Shadows Pirouette (WA), currently $65, multiple vintages has won several blind tastings at 10 yrs post-vintage against the likes of WA's best including Quilceda Creek, Leonetti, Andrew Will, etc.

Chateau Montelena Napa
Napanook
Heitz Napa Valley
For the bonus points: Conn Creek is consistently in the $30 bracket and will also appeal to a palate that leans to the Old World.

Easy choice. Chappellet Signature - Pritchard Hill fruit, available widely at retail, consistently very good and stable pricing for a long time.
Have you noticed this wine getting bigger and more jammy/alcoholic in recent vintages? Seems like last couple of Vintages are going that direction

Agreed on the jammy particularly 16 though don't know what that will do over time. As my cabernet budget rose over time these have become more daily drinker level so I don't mind the jammy drink em early style as much as when I was buying them to lay down a bit longer

Can’t speak to white rock, but wasn’t super impressed by Elizabeth Spencer. Found the wine uninteresting compared to several others mentioned on this board (Myriad, Becklyn, RM).

Similar to the last post for this thread, I know there are some fans of Anderson Conn Valley Cab -

https://www.wineaccess.com/catalog/2018 ... 97ca10fb9/

$39 seems like a fair price, even better with free shipping and any additional savings you may have access too...such as...

http://share.wineaccess.com/v/joe_28

They’re doing a promotion with a 10% discount to raise funds for the fires, too, but unfortunately this doesn’t qualify as a limited time offer.

I see what you did there. Also agree with your list
