Awesome idea and amazing execution, Charlie.

If I win the magnum of Vatan, do I have to grow a beard and start waxing my mustache?

The Vatan is mine. It’s become a yuppie wine. :)

Jen is in for 5 tickets as well - she's impressed with what you've done, and, given her grave disappointment in choosing me, has really had to raise the bar in what impresses her. Sending proof shortly

I vote that we go Jerry Lewis MDA telethon on this collaborative effort ... extend a day if need be. We are gaining steam. I want to see Todd do his best Ed McMahon imitation and Charlie weep as we look at the totals hit $50k ... or more.

Seriously, great work team WB.

RAFFLE NOTE

We have two logistical issues I did not foresee as I did not foresee how HUGE this would be.

I am using Random.org paid multi round giveaway service. Each giveaway is a paid $1 cost. The reason they charge is because the system generates a unique verification code that shows that the giveaway is truly random. Also it allows you to share that link and lets everyone see the names picked/drawings done. It's the most trusted way to do drawings. With one this big, it's definitely necessary.

1) The service caps you at 3000 entries. That's $60,000. We are currently at roughly $56,000. I will have to cap tickets at 3000 entries/$60,000. You can donate past that. But you will no longer receive tickets.

2) Also I wasn't expecting the number of bottles being donated and the same system only handles 30 rounds. Right now we have over 30 bottles donated. So in lieu of running each individual one for excitement purposes (and having to manually remove a winner from the pool), the fifth randomization of the list will be the final and deciding randomization. So the top 35 selected in the fifth randomization will be the winners. They will pick their wines in the order that they were drawn. (ex: #1 gets first pick, #2 gets second etc)

Thank you!!!

My only comment for your own sanity, Charlie, is that it'll be a hell of a time trying to co-ordinate 35 people picking their wine of choice and letting the others know what's gone in a timely fashion.

I think i read this like 3 times and am still confused.

Can someone please explain what that means? If there's only 30 rounds how is the 5th draw the final deciding draw & how is there 35 "Winners" (The real winner is NAACP imo, as i donated while not knowing what most of the bottles are & why they're coveted.)

Wasn't the #6th pick sorta like getting the first pick of the pool?

We may need strict and rigid oversight of the drawing. I suggest we gather Fu’s Berns team members given their reputation for integrity, generosity and otherwise sterling disposition (well, one is questionable), pop one of the bottles to keep them sufficiently lubricated and engaged, and then see what happens.

2) Also I wasn't expecting the number of bottles being donated and the same system only handles 30 rounds. Right now we have over 30 bottles donated. So in lieu of running each individual one for excitement purposes (and having to manually remove a winner from the pool), the fifth draw will be the final and deciding draw. So the top 35 selected will be the winners. They will pick their wines in the order that they were drawn. (ex: #1 gets first pick, #2 gets second etc)

Thank you!!!

Wasn't the #6th pick sorta like getting the first pick of the pool?
originally i was going to do an individual draw for each winner. So i would draw 35 times.

The system caps me at 30 times. So i can't do that.

So i'm just going to do one draw on the FIFTH DRAW that will have all 35 winners.

The power, generosity and commitment of this community should not surprise any of us. We simply need catalysts and the will, exemplified so well here by Charlie's leadership to do something. I'm proud to be part of this effort, especially in times like this one.
My best wines for 2020:
2014 Marie Courtin Champagne Efflorescence Extra Brut
2012 Minière F & R Champagne Influence Brut
2008 Rhys Skyline PN SCM

Thanks for doing this. I know that the cap has been reached but I donated anyway. Perhaps others will do so as well.

Set up a side pool where we can make bets on which wine gets selected first.

Wow Charlie. I thought your initial setup was kick ass. This blows all doors off what I expected.

Let me take a stab at the system. Is each "round" a randomization of your whole pool of 'tickets' which selects 30? Therefore you are going to run it 5 times taking the top from each and the fifth run you will take all 30?

If that is it, it will still only be 34 though. The first four plus the last 30.

I think I'm likely missing something though.
