TN: 04 Raveneau Montee de Tonnerre

after a disappointing bottle from another vintage, I felt like giving Raveneau another chance. Winner, winner. Super refined nose, herbal notes with menthol, super acidity that augurs for two more decades of life, clean but lean classy fruit and rainwater, a lovely bottle. Glad I have more.

Great combo of Raveneau and my favorite 1er MdT.

Nice wine Alan.

one of my all time fav bottlings.

I’ve got one bottle left :weary:

(Groan. Humble brag, I know. But this really is a damn tasty version.)

Nice notes but I think you always have more of every wine…

I had the '14 Louis Michel MdT last night. Probably not the quality of Raveneau but '14 was a great year and at $30 this is a great QPR.

For some reason I picture you having pallets of wines like Louis Michel MdT for house wine. [rofl.gif]

Drank most of my Raveneau '04’s far too young.

Thanks for the note Alan. I reckon I have 1 of these remaining.

people with glass cellars and cases and cases of PYCM shouldn’t throw stones!
