1998 Bartolo Mascarello Barolo - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo (7/1/2020)
Started off with some nutty aldehyde and balsamic-like volatility. Got better and better with air. There were notes of leather, Indian spice, meat and dried fruits. It was very savoury in the mouth with good depth and complexity. The finish was long, with sinewy tannins.
